Nimencia was created in 2003 as a simple idea of expression through the use of music which sound derives from 60's & 70's psychedelic rock, grunge, metal, punk, progressive, blues, jazz, and folk, among others.
In July 2007 the band relased its first full-length studio album, Trip to Motherland. Its thirteen tracks contain material in english, spanish, and both. The band used its cultural diversity to connect and communicate with more music enthusiasts from different parts of the world.
Following the release of Trip to Motherland the band took its show on a brief tour through the cities of Atlanta, New York, Tampa, and Gainesville where it received very positive feedback from audiences, promoters, and fellow bands. While in its hometown of Miami up to the end of 2009, the band could be seen perfoming in different impotant venues, interacting with audiences and fellow musicians, and experimenting in the studio while writing new material. Roger "Maget" Izaguirre (vocals, guitar, percussion), Marcos Jimenez (lead guitar), Moises Jimenez (bass), and Ricardo Mere (drums) are the personalities behind Nimencia's sound.
