I guess I’m the last person on earth starting her own Myspace profile.always thought of it as an exhibisionists playground.not my thing.
It was the same story with a computer, a cell-phone, an I-pod.always the last in line, but I've turned into a proper digi-freak! Fell in love with Apple comps through music/ studiowork, and life would never be the same again.
Anyway, it’s pretty damn hard to stay in touch with the people you meet around the globe, as well as checking out what they’re all up to.
So, okay, okay, okayyou got me; here’s my profile.
I’ll leave it up to other people to flatter me, or judge me, I’ll just stick to the facts!
Well, my name is Nienke de Jong. Annoyingly energetic and cheerful, sometimes a bit too deep; letting mind go over body, love music, books, movies. Adore the great outdoors.not a city-girl, but need the mental-food of the cities buzz every now and then. I’m a vegetarian, adore Italian food, and getting a wee bit drunk every now and then suits me just fine!
I was born into a loving family, which makes me what I am today: a loving, caring person. I’ve got a big heart, probably a tiny bit too big every now and then. My path has been troubled every so often, learned a few valuable lessons there.
If I ever get hit by a bus and my life flashes before my eyes; what I see won’t be boring.
I’ve studied two times, lived practically everywhere, had glorious years, and tragic moments, life has been a rollercoaster-ride.
Through the years it has become pretty apparent what I want to do with my life; devote myself to music, develop the inner Ninx and stay true and authentic.
I’ve been singing in a band called AUTUMN (www.autumn-band.com)for 9 years. This band has been signed to Sony Music, Universal/TEC and recently to Metal Blade. We’ve released two albums, and the 3rd saw a worldwide release. This 3rd album is my absolute favorite. So proud of the magic we captured there.
Early 2008 I left Autumn after 9 years. It took me a year to be 'ready' to set my guys free and follow my own path in music. They found themselves a great new vocalist, and they are recording their fourth album in Graveland Studio as we speak.
Besides AUTUMN I had started a solo band with Arno Krabman (about three years ago) to satisfy all my musical needs. It’s called DEJAFUSE (www.dejafuse.com). Since my departure from AUTUMN I was finally able to put in the energy it needed. If someone would have told me a year ago that I would have been able to grow even more as a vocalist, by setting myself free to let my voice come out in the way it chooses to do, I guess wouldn't believe them. But it did, it happened. There's space in my heart, my chest, my mind. and I was able to sing from a 'different place' within myself; relaxed, happy and up close and personal without fear. I'm proud, and I'm curious to find out where this journey will lead us.
And as if this wasn’t enough; I run a recording studio together with Arno Krabman;
GRAVELAND STUDIO (www.gravelandstudio.com). We record bands aswell as solo-artists. Besides that we write music for movies, commercials and various artists.
Rock ’n roll is the thing we love most, but we are very openminded when it comes to other musical styles. A few years down the road we keep growing as a business, there's new and fresh ideas coming up every day. And we are damn pleased that so many people have recorded their amazing sounds at GRAVELAND STUDIO.
Lately I have been feeling the need to take my personal development one step further and have decided to study parttime. In this course I will get closer to my authentic self, get rid off useless bagage and will be able to dig into even more potential within myself. The main goal being to start my own practice as a life-coach besides and within our music business. Helping people to free their potential. Both in life and music.
As you can see I've got my work cut out for me, and that's the way it should be.
I'm not on earth to sit on my ass all day although I enjoy that very much!
