It may sound pretentious, but it's the truth. Nideit (pronounced nid-ee-it) writes music for the emotion behind the words. Its songs are meant to evoke passion, anger, sadness, glee, whimsy, and frivolity. A sort of sung poetry that each and every one of us can relate to. Nideit delivers this lyrical genius in a punk rock style that can both elevate a party to the next level and create a significant moment of reflection.
At the helm of this self-reflecting grunge meets energetic/cynical punk rock vessel is lead singer, songwriter, and guitarist, David Nunes. Fun fact- the name of the band comes from Nunes' late mother's inability to enunciate her favorite pet name for her son, "Idiot." Jimi Fernandes serves as the dark horse of the band with his raspy backup vocals, solid base playing, and supplementary song writing. Behind the drums is Tyler Olson, whose strengths include brisk punk beats, seemingly effortless soloing, and an all-natural ginger plait worthy of serious envy. Nideit's wildcard is part timer Kenny Killingsworth, who serves as lead guitarist and singer, and lends depth to the band when need be.
