Singer / Songwriter Nick Fügedi has called many places home. Fügedi's love for music began with his parents record player, where he frequently listened to LP's of popular 1960's Folk singers; Jim Croce, James Taylor, John Denver, Simon and Garfunkel, and Bob Dylan. It was with this inspiration that he decided to start playing and writing music of his own. Fügedi's songs use traditional Folk and Americana styling's to portray modern themes and ideas.
As well as being a musician, Fügedi is also a visual artist. In 2008 he graduated from Western Michigan University, with a BFA in art education and painting. In his senior year, he was commissioned to paint a 10' x 20' mural, which he entitled "iGeneration." His paintings can also be seen in the independent film "Cherry." Shortly before this, Fugedi had an original song placed in the movie and soundtrack for another independent film, 'Kalamazoo?'
With his new EP, "On The Road," Fügedi sings about leaving the familiarity of one's home for a life abroad; a theme that Fügedi lived out upon moving to Hawaii after graduating college. After living in Waikiki for a year, Fügedi decided to return home in pursuit of creating music with long time friend and musical collaborator, Colin Sheffield. The result was the four song EP, "On The Road," recorded in Sheffield's garage studio in Minneapolis, MN due out by Summer 2011.
