Born Nicolani Marguerite-Elise Olds, 44 is an up and coming hip hop queen hidden in the underground scene. Her roots of modern style date back to an adolescence spent synthesizing stories, constructing crude screenplays, and working written lyrics into winning linguistics.



After acquiring an affinity for hip hop "when it was still real hip hop", her written talents evolved into a newfound fiending for freestyling; this simultaneously became an addiction and passion in which she indulged diligently ~ whether it was at a go-go party, a smoke break at work, or even alone in a car where no one could appreciate it. Much of her teen years were spent slinging and gangbanging, and it wasn't until she saw a handful of friends die, and her step-brother go to jail that she decided she wanted out. Out of banging, out of slinging, and out of D.C.



Her musical manipulation and mastery had already won her acclaim among her peers and friends. But this group of Eastcoast admirers increased when she moved back north to pursue a parallel passion of hers: Division I basketball at Wagner College in Staten Island, NY. When she wasn't undertaking grueling practices, traveling for tournaments, or training in the cold, she kept her hip hop ambitions alive and continued rapping while making new contacts in New York. Yet, however appreciated the support was, she wanted more.



Although ambitious, she was not naive; she knew she would need to first *have* money to accomplish anything in the music realm. So, in 2003, 44 arrived in L.A. to immerse herself in the screenwriting business at UCLA. It was a struggle from the get go. Many nights she slept in her own car, but she did everything she could to avoid returning to her disturbing past back on the east, including (ironically) slinging again. Before long, however, she started catching a few breaks, getting real work, and finally linked up with equally talented artists, soon had ready access to the music making world, and started to understand the process as a whole ~ from what she admired; to what she wanted to avoid.



She devotes nearly all of her time to music. The studio turned a rough girl into an eloquent emcee goddess whose ability to make you nod your head, is matched only by her transfixing lyrical genius. Couple this with her Hawaiian and Spanish roots, and you've got 44: A 6'2" exotic beauty. WATCH THE DOME KID, CUZ SHE COMIN FOR THE HEAD PIECE!.
