New Vinyl have just recently recorded their debut album at The Chairworks in Castleford where the likes of Ndubz and The Fall also recorded theirs. We used Producer Steve Whitfield to capture the true spirit of our sound and had the fortune to have Live strings and a live choir to use at our disposal.
We are looking for a record label and a way of releasing our album. Over the next few months will be showcasing the album at various music venues in the Uk.
We released our first single 'Makin It Easy' on our own label back in 2009. We managed to get HMV to stock it in all their Leeds, Wakefield and Huddersfield stores and it sold 1000 hard copies in the first week. We did a tour of the UK and made a lot of fans.
Over the past few years we have played hundreds of gigs all over the country, Including Leeds Fest after we won the future sound competition.
We have done live sessions on BBC Radio Leeds and Absolute radio, amongst other local radio shows including phoenix fm and All fm.
Three of our songs were played on Sky Sports for major Rugby League games and we recorded the soundtrack for a low budget film called 'Rough around the Edges'.
Our song 'Call For Rebellion' was also featured on a Government drug, drink & sex awareness website for young people.
The band have been mentioned in various tabloids including The Sun, The Daily Mirror, The Daily Star, The Daily Telegraph, Metro & Ok Magazine as we were previously managed by Gail Porter.
We have also been mentioned on National TV shows Loose Women, GMTV and The Wright Stuff.
We now have our own album and no ties to anyone or anything. Using all the contacts and fans we have built up over the years we intend to release it and do another tour.

Live Review

Luckily to save the line up, we finally had a 'real' live band who were certainly the highlight of the night. The Wakefield five-piece New Vinyl were clearly not going to waste any time and put everything they had into their performance. From the word go, both lead guitarist and drummer burst into action, owning the stage throughout the gig. Yeah, maybe what they play has been done to death, but they certainly do it extremely well, and look like a confident band who have been touring for a while. The songs are strong with a couple of killer choruses hailing from songs such as 'Temptation' and their finale 'Join The Resistance'. People did try and join their cause too, by trying to invade the backstage only to be stopped by the bouncers. Keep an eye out for these guys as they have a lot to show and won't disappoint.

New Vinyl sound like a band with an instinctive understanding of who they are, where they're going and brimming with the confidence and sharpness that's as much about time together as it is talent.
'Call For Rebellion' featured on government website!
