The Best Reactions To Rihanna Performing At The 2023 Super Bowl Halftime Show

Published: September 26, 2022

Rihanna has left fans wailing tears of joy after announcing on Sunday that she will be performing at the 2023 Super Bowl.

The pop princess will join the ranks of Beyoncé, Diana Ross, U2, Prince, The Black Eyed Peas, Maroon 5 and more, as a headliner for the fan-favourite halftime show.

Her announcement post holding an NFL game ball amassed nearly 2 million likes on Twitter and a wave of support on Instagram, without even posting a fully-worded caption.

Rihanna’s last music release was in 2016, and in the six years gone by, she’s been busy building a makeup empire with Fenty Beauty, and giving birth to her first child with A$AP Rocky.

She was invited to perform at the 2019 Super Bowl, but declined in solidarity with quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who faced widespread backlash after kneeling during the American National Anthem in 2016 in the early days of the Black Lives Matter movement.

Despite having banger after banger under her belt, her Navy — or fandom — joked that we can all expect a 12-minute Fenty demo instead, because music seems to come second in her career these days.

But inevitably, her imminent return to the music world has been well received — with speculation a new album may be on the horizon as well.

All that’s left to ponder is who Rihanna will bring on stage with her as guest performers, and the internet’s own ideal star-studded lineup.

The 2023 Super Bowl will take place on Sunday, February 12 2023.
