Nigel Godrich — long-time Radiohead producer and Thom Yorke collaborator whose most recent work was on Arcade Fire's WE — has announced the relaunch of his live-in-studio performance series From the Basement

The series, which originally ran from 2006 to 2009, featured performances from Radiohead, PJ Harvey, the White Stripes, Sonic Youth and many others. The new season will kick off on June 1 with a performance from IDLES, and will end in October.

Between those dates will be performances from Caribou, Nilüfer Yanya, Sons of Kemet, Warpaint, and Squid

"What a pleasure it has been doing this again!" Godrich said in a statement. "I'm still just a fan, still super excited to have the opportunity to film all these great artists and have loved making these new shows. After being so busy doing other things I felt that the time was right to rekindle this idea… to somehow bring it into the present, but the same rules apply now as they did then… no audience or presenter… just a direct connection with the viewer and a chance for us to take some time to do something special in a controlled environment… the priority being to make it sound and look great…"

The series relaunch comes by way of WeTransfer — whose subscription services will provide one exclusive additional song per artist in the new season — and Sonos Radio, who'll be broadcasting new and archived From the Basement sessions.
