Goldroom – Mykonos (Fleet Foxes Cover)

Published: April 16, 2015

Goldroom. A household name now and a brand that inspires confidence in quality tunes with an escapist nostalgic twist. I became friends with Josh pre-Goldroom era (PG?) when he was part of NightWaves along with fellow Binary boss Kyle Petersen, it was a sincerity and authenticity about them that brought me into Binary and then opened up a whole other world of music to me. The genre that these guys championed has mutated and crossed over into mainstream pop while remaining alive in the underground, wether that be the Synthwave of Mitch Murder or the current synth pop incarnation of Moullinex as well as hundreds of other artists over the last three years. It is that rare quality of accessibility, sincerity and killer musical taste and talent that have established Josh/Goldroom as the internationally popular artist that he is today. This tune is a cover of his favorite Fleet Foxes song Mykonos, not to be confused with his other cover of…Elliot Smith…the man has soul. Check it out. The vocals are his own, legit and heartfelt as the emotion that he pours into every song he crafts. Discover his music if you haven’t already.Free download as well. Support Quality music.
