#MonoMonday: Celebrating 25 Years of A Tribe Called Quest

Published: November 16, 2015

The four members of legendary hip-hop group A Tribe Called Quest (Q-Tip, Phife Dawg, Ali Shaheed Muhammad and Jarobi White) reunited briefly last week to celebrate the brand new release of People's Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm (25th Anniversary Edition). The special version of the group’s seminal 1990 debut album includes some of their most recognizable songs, including “Bonita Applebum,” “I Left My Wallet in El Segundo” and “Can I Kick It?” There are also exclusive new remixes from Cee-Lo (“Footprints”), Pharrell Williams (“Bonita Applebum”) and J. Cole (“Can I Kick It?). A cult favorite, the album had a slow burn on initial release and eventually became a gold-selling hip-hop classic. Whether this album is a familiar friend or something you’re about to hear for the very first time, you will quickly journey back to a fresh and exciting time in hip-hop culture as this ambitious group asserted their sound for the first time.
