When Megadeth drummer Dirk Verbeuren isn’t bashing the skins for one of his various musical projects, he’s taking on initiatives like Savage Lands, a non-profit organization that has the stated aim to “buy land to turn it into protected natural sanctuaries and and finance reforestation operations.” In other words, Verbeuren is helping to save the forests in Costa Rica, which ripples out in the countless positive ways that biodiversity and a healthy ecosystem encourage.
As you can probably imagine, it’s expensive work and Savage Lands could always use support. That’s why Savage Lands and Clean Wave have teamed up to raffle off a one-of-a-kind custom guitar from respected luthier and Intronaut guitarist Sacha Dunable. The guitar is so unique because it was crafted from a fallen Guanacaste tree, which ties the guitar even further to the Costa Rica restoration project.
