The Neurologists are a production group from New York that has been producing records since 1998.-It was originally three members(Onedae/Dj Paws and Mr.Boody(Last name) 2 producers/Djs and one Mc-They released a vinyl Ep in 1998 entitled, Systematic Sensitization which had the the hit underground single-Iron Fist Dynasty and b side Artificial Intelligence. The single generated a strong buzz in the underground communities of Boston, Japan and Germany. The record self released and distributed by Landspeed. As a result the group was invited to Germany on the Lyracist Lounge tour in 1999 alongside Matrix and Freestyle(Arsonists) Connects were made with super German producer Roy Marqui and 9 shows were slayed. The Neurologists were also interning for Shaggy at HC+F recording Studio Long Island, alongside Phillip Smart doing assistant engineer work. The Neurologists opened up for Group Home, Artifacts,High and mighty-Afu Ra at Various New York Venues. The group then followed up with the Exposure EP which had the Underground smash single Aquabatix and Four Seasons. The Ep was finally played in NY by Dj Eclipse and passed on to college Djs worldwide. During this time a young UndergroundHiphop.com was spawning and Onedae was holding 2 top spots for extensive time periods. He also appeared in the Source Magazine before even releasing his first Vinyl!-(note- all Onedae vinyl releases moved a couple of thousand vinyl copies independently. In 2000 they recorded with nearly all the local underground rappers and groups including Dalek, Acelover, Level X, K the I (Lanspeed Distribion Employed at the Time) etc. and built a reputation amongst the early 1996 Underground scene when Natural elements and Mc Serch were out at Nuyorican Poets Cafe wearing bookbags and you couldnt Figure out which cypher to record!). Onedae decided to be a solo artist and leave the Neurologists to be a production duo Between Mr Boody and DJ Paws. They recorded a series of projects, Neurologists-Enlightenment Ep(which featured Lighttwister with guest Vocalist Matrix (Lyracist Lounge/Indy 12inch fame) cuts from Dj DP One -It was supposed to be released on a German label but then it folded leaving the material to be old. Being frustrated by this and other bad label offers that offered 2 year delays of material, they started their own Imprint-Edified Gems. The Neurologists recorded, No Future August 44.2007 EP and LP, which spawned reviews, Airplay, publishing checks and the Infamous Gold Sticker,Gold Cassette tape and Gold Cd EPs.(Anyone at the Rocksteady Anniversary in Manhattan knows this-Note--at the time the Neurologists were more known for the sticker and Onedae 12inches than the music group itself-over 5000 stickers 2000 tapes and cds promoted throughout 5 boroughs)-It was the first Instrumental Installment from the Neurologists with only a few vocal cuts. Onedae then released a 12inch vinyl single (Clearing) produced by the Neurologists. (It is still available on UndergroundHipHop.com) other than that it is rare! The full Length Onedae, Geminis curse soon followed with additional production by the Bronx Monx.It had alternative Distributers this time including Groove Attack and Other Music (Manhattan) During this time the Neurologists produced another record for Tes One (Lex records) Sound Investments remix and did work on Take home tes EP (Waveforms). Tes later on released the Sound Investments 12inch Vinyl! Onedae then released another vinyl single, Target Practice/Livin Killin both Neurologists Produced. The Neurologists then recorded a series of Instrumental masterpieces and The Toymakers Cabinet LP was born which is still unreleased to this day. Other skeleton projects like Killbots -75th anniversary are in the files. (Will Re-Surface in 2010 in the Edified Gems Store!!) Neurologists also produced a vinyl cut for Id Obelus which ended up on Subversiv records (Germany) Offbeaters Vol 2.1 (12 inch Vinyl) The duo then split in 2004 due to creative differences and circumstances. Dj Paws then went on to score independent films and landed tracks on Cartoon Network .Paws also was crafs hand made instruments and sells them on Ebay(He also used to hang out with a lesser known MF Doom when he lived by Long Beach-Fun Fact!). Dj Paws is considered a music genius by many though his whereabouts remain mysterious. The aftermath- Mr. Boody produced an album and teamed up with long time friend and MC Steve Austin to form Electric Fence. Infinity Gems Lp was Born. Songs from this album appeared on many compilations from Cellarnoise (Online Distribution company) to Free magazine (Paperback/CD Mag).Steve Austin also toured extensively through London,Poland and Canada. He also wrote for various magazines including Trace Magazine. The two released a 12 inch single under the Title, Electric Fence in 2005 called Ferocious/Orator (Which Featured OneDae and Logik from Level X)The vinyl has received thousands of spins and heavy college radio airplay including, The legendary WBAI NY radio show, Underground Railroad, Future Flavas, Dj Cut Supreme 90.1fm, Stony Brook and has been played worldwide including Satellite Radio (Dj Mickey Knox), The Abstract (NYU,89.1fm) Steve Austin has toured to promote the single and pass of to Djs. As far as Neurologists -The latest Lp is being worked on,"As The Dark Settles" The first Vinyl 12inch single, Neurologists feat. Lil Dap (Group Home)The Staff of Ra/ Pagans Helmet (Killah Priest) -The Vinyl 12inch also has the Instrumental track,Widow. Upon completion, the Neurologists have been releasing the video Series, New York Originals. It started as a way to promote Steve 1989 and Neurologists by Showcasing Steve's ability to interview, MC and Entertain. The Neurologists Film and Score the Series-Note-All Beats on any Volume is Neurologists Produced!. Brandon Melendez is the Graphic designer and only editor/animator. J23 recs owner General Rc has stepped in to guide the originals and help release it (DVD) through various means of distribution.(There are many people involved and even more) look for the massive upcoming magazine reviews, promo stickers and dvd coming late 2009/ Early 2010. Artists included are mentioned on www.myspace.com/newyorkoriginals and www.thenewyorkoriginals.com!. so we wont repeat but they are all New York Originals and Hip Hop Legends Period. We are already done with Season 2 recordings and are filming for future episodes at random.
