Nepente

Nepente is a Death-Black Metal band founded in Manizales (Colombia) in 2002 by José Fernando Ospina (Vocals), Mauricio Aristizábal (Drums), Wilmar Correa (Bass), Esteban Daza (Guitar) and Juan Pablo Buitrago (Guitar). The band plays their first shows with some of the most important bands in the colombian metal escene in that moment like Masacre, Luciferian, Twilight Glimmer, and so on. 2005 Recording of the Mcd ASCENSION in EL PEZ Studios in Medellín (Colombia). In order to support this record the band did a tour in their home country. Some tracks of the mcd are played in several colombian metal radio shows. 2006 The band concentrates in the writing of the songs for their first album and get the contact to get in two compilation cds of the labels METALBOLIC RECORDS and METAL WAR PRODUCTIONS in the United States. The tracks of ASCENSION are airplayed in radio shows in the United States, Spain, Argentina and Mexico. 2007 Nepente opened the show of the norwegian band ANCIENTin Pereira city and played some headlining shows in other Colombian's cities. Later in that year get a contract for their first album with the american metal label METALBOLIC RECORDS. 2008 METALBOLIC RECORDS releases the album ATONEMENTS, mixed and mastered by JEAN FRANCOIS DAGENAIS (KATAKLYSM guitarrist and producer of cds of KATAKLYSM, MALEVOLENT CREATION, EX DEO, and other bands) in his J.F.D. STUDIOS in Canada. Nepente open the show of the greek Black Metal band ROTTING CHRIST in their home town Manizales. 2009 The band had their first international tour in Ecuador and Perú and get the opportunity to open the show of the american metal legend OMEN in Lima (Perú). Later the band makes their first official video clip of the song PROCESSION. Guitarrist Juan Pablo Buitrago left the band. in 2010 Nepente play with the big Brazilian death metal band KRISIUN in their Colombian tour. Guitarrist Pablo Vasquez joins the band. In 2011 the band continue in the writing process of their forth coming album and plays a show with the influential black metal band INQUISITION. In 2012 the band enters in Ethylic Studios to record their next album later the album is mixed and mastered in the famous polish studios HERTZ RECORDING STUDIO (VADER, BEHEMOTH, HATE, DECAPITATED, etc.) the band is looking for a label for the album that will be called "Suffering is the Seed"
