Twenty-seven years in the recording industry Denny Knight, producer, engineer, songwriter and musician has received five Grammy nominations, a CBMA award and has been honored as Independent Producer of the Year two years in a row. He has appeared on CBS's "Good Morning America" show, "CMT", "VH1" and recently, the golf channel's "The Daly Planet" with John Daly. Mr. Knight worked on the film "The Last Days of Frank and Jessie James" starring Johnny Cash and Kris Kristofferson with director William A. Graham. In '87 he was commissioned by the Library of Congress to engineer a variety of orchestral scores and has produced/engineered the audio broadcasts for the nationally televised "CMA Awards" show, Nashville's "New Country" and the "Cashbox Awards" show. He has been in Billboard, R&R, Cashbox, Music Row and many other industry trade magazines as well as having worked with labels, Warner Brothers, Atlantic, Mercury and Curb Records to mention a few. Mr. Knight was Operations Manager, Staff Producer and Chief Engineer of Air Studios also, one of the founders, Director of A&R for Air Records. He also was A&R Director for Delta Disc / PolyGram Records.
Label endeavors led Mr. Knight into the recording studio with country legends such as Johnny Cash, Garth Brooks, Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson to rock, soul and bluegrass legends like Bill Monroe, James Brown and The Allman Brothers Band. Travels have led him across the country producing and engineering in studios from coast to coast. He has managed several studios in and around Nashville. Mr. Knight was Operations Manager, Producer and Chief Engineer of Music Row's, LSI Recording Studio, which was known for the variety of artists that recorded there from Sir Paul McCartney and Marty Robbins, to Styx and June Carter. Mr. Knight was also Operations Manager, Producer and Chief Engineer of Comanche Studios where he worked with artists ranging from pop artist Jewel to country artist Waylon Jennings.
