Naseem

Naseem Khozein began playing violin at the age of four under the Suzuki method. Since then she has won numerous solo and composition competitions in her home state of Texas. In 2005, she earned a music degree from the University of Texas at Austin with a minor in Mediterranean Cultures. She has recorded with multi-Grammy winning producers KC Porter and JB Eckl and has performed with well-known Persian artists Rahmatollah Badiyi and Farzad, and Chinese erhuist Lin Cheng. She has also performed with Dash Crofts (of Seals and Crofts) and guitarist Louie Shelton. Naseem has sung and performed numerous instruments in many different styles, including Persian, Brazilan, Latin, African, Rock, Country, and Jazz. She has toured around the world with different projects such as Barrage, Bella Canto, and Farzad. Naseem has also been a part of Barrage's educational workshop "Energize You Strings" program, and has developed her own workshops for string programs. Her last workshop "Musical Faces" was taught in the Waco Independent School District and featured at the Waco Cultural Arts Fest in September 2008.
