929 Grace Street has been the home of many names and many eras. Originally opened as a venue space in 1988, bands such as Green Day, Archers of Loaf, Fugazi, Hot Water Music, Smashing Pumpkins, Snapcase, Saves the Day, Converge, Jimmy Eat World, Nirvana, Drive Like Jehu, and ONYX have played between those wall. As well as being a staple in national underground music tours, the space has provided a home and pivotal community space for local acts such as GWAR, Avail, Action Patrol, Hose Got Cable, Ann Berretta, Engine Down, Exploder, La Bradford, Spokane, the Rah Bras, Count Me Out, Strike Anywhere, Inquisition, and Denali. **** Now The Nanci Raygun has taken the reigns of the legendary show space. Being intent on continuing the tradition of being a part of the Richmond community by consistently bringing in a full range of underground music to Richmond as well as supporting the wealth of creative and talented local acts. **** Over the last two years, the venue has been graced by such memorable bands Mastadon, Atmosphere, Against Me!, Ted Leo and The Pharmacists, KRS1, Lucero, These Arms Are Snakes, RJD2, Blood Brothers, and Lightning Bolt. As well as musical acts, Nanci Raygun has hosted integrated art shows by local artists, dance nights, and theater acts.
