Nakai tha BlkCrow

My artist name is Nakai tha BlkCrow, but my real name is O'Jay Vanegas. Music has always been in my life, but I didn't really get serious until 1995 when I became an original member of the Innernational Crew. Since then, I was the lead singer of the rock/funk band Monstro-X (2000) and later became a co-founder with DJ ODYSEY of the Hip-Hop group SOUL TRIBE (2002). In 2004, I joined the the desert rock/funk band, EVIDENT. I'm currently their lead singer and play rhythm guitar. You can catch us playing locally in Coachella Valley, CA. I also have been DJing since 1996. I specialize in DJing 80's (New Wave), Ol Skool, Freestyle mixes, underground Hip-Hop, and Club hits. I am available for private party bookings, club bookings, and performances. Ultimately, I love performing!



If I had to describe myself outside of music then I would have to say that I'm an old soul with a young heart. I'm a single parent and a proud Uncle. I love skateboarding, painting, & traditional native ways. I admire those who stand for what they want in life and put the energy out to make things happen. I ain't got time for haters, whinners and people who let life pass them by. I'm all about self-progression and if you ask anybody who knows me, you'll know that's true to heart. I love my Native American culture (Mexican/ Navajo) and I love to learn about other cultures. If it was up to me I would spend all my time at the beach, but I'm a desert kid who needs the heat. I enjoy good wine and steak, but I'll take a Dodger dog anyday (Go L.A. Blue!).



There is so much more to me and the things I love to do and experience so I'll keep this short. I basically live for the now, but keep my thoughts on tomorrow.
