Mysti Day

There is a popular saying, “it's better late than never”; but do not tell that to Mysti Day. Mysti Day has always been where she wanted to be; doing what she was born to do… SING.

Mysti Day, born in Fort Worth Texas, has been singing since the age of three while her mother played the organ for the church choir. As Mysti matured, her reputation as a vocalist and performer became a force to be reckoned with. The 5' foot 8” inch beauty, with a five octave range, had such a huge following on the club circuit, everyone who followed her knew it was just a matter of time before she was noticed as a national vocal talent.

Her opportunity was presented when the established duo, Aurra, was making a personnel change with the departure of the incumbent female of the group. Ironically, Mysti's spot in the newly renamed group. Deja, almost never happened. Starr Young's replacement had already been chose. However, a recommendation by notable musician, Horace Young, witnessed Mysti’s magical performance and urged Deja’s management staff and Curt Jones to watch her recorded live performance.

The rest is history. Thereafter, Mysti was given full accommodations to New York City in addition to a Virgin Records recording contract. Mysti had a seamless transition as she was excited with anticipation of performing on the national stage and working with proven track record producers Teddy Riley and Gene Griffin.

Mysti has a voice all her own; but, if you had to make comparisons, it may be said you could be reminded of Jill Scott along with the vocal power of Lisa Fischer. Make no mistake, she is one of a kind. Mysti Day can sound sweet and delicate in one phrase and within the next breath, she will rock your world while making a strong point on a line and also make you feel her pain.

Mysti has an infectious spirit and personality. She is a naturally deep thinker, which transfers over to her expressive singing style. Mysti Day is a welcomed difference for the listener that wants to experience a passionate message through music. There is only complaint an audience may have regarding Mysti's vocal musings - We must hear more of her!
