My Shameful started out as a two-man project, far far in north Finland, in the year of 1999. The founders Sami Rautio and Harri Jussila set out to create death/doom more extreme and bleak than any of their influences. During the year 2000 My Shameful put out three demos, of which the last ”To All I Hated” was released as an EP by the Italian label Nocturnal Music in year 2001.

”To All I Hated” got the attention of the new Finnish label Firebox Records with whom My Shameful signed a 2 album contract. Sami as the sole member (and living in Germany) at this point released ”Of all the wrong things” and ”.of Dust”, taking the music closer to Funeral Doom like expression.



After the release of ”.of Dust” Sami recruited Mark Napier as the drummer, Mario Hahn as guitarist and Twist as bass player into the band, enabling My Shameful to release its fury upon live audiences. The following years saw My Shameful release the appraised ”Return to Nothing” album and play gigs with bands like Esoteric and Debris Inc. to mention a few.



In 2007 My Shameful parted ways with drummer Mark Napier, who was replaced with Jürgen Fröhling. The new drummer had his initiation into the band in Doom Shall Rise V. Soon the band recorded ”Descend”, an album which expanded My Shamefuls expression further into, and away from Funeral Doom. Despite Sami moving to Finland, the band did several shows in 2007 with Ahab and Shever.



Now. a 5th album is planned. prepare. No hope. No Romance. No light.
