DESCRIPTION:
Keelhaul performing "High Seas Viking Eulogy" of their stop-break "Keelhaul's Triumphant Return to Obscurity" CD, live at Now That's Class on 6/17/10, opening for Eyehategod. The first 3 bands that night, including Atlas Moth and Strong Intention, played on the main stage upstairs, but Keelhaul wanted to melt faces in a more intimate fashion and chose to play, directly preceeding EHG's all-out-chaos set on main stage, in the dingy, dark, 7 foot high ceiling basement of the venue, usually reserved as the bands dressing room (or for whatever fucked up shit you use a "dressing room" for). What came next was nothing short of amazing, a world class metal act by every stick of measurement, from the flawless, progressive drumming of Will Scharf, the dual guitar attack of Dana Embrose and Chris Smith, and the earth bounding, distored bass of Aaron Dallison, all sprinkled with the later two's powerful, less-is-more vocal approach.

The lighting and sound on this video are both sub-par, however the intensity of the performance definatly justifies a good watch through. i know the audio sounds distorted on the bottom end, but this is just the way it sounded in the room that night. Special thanks to Keelhaul for allowing me to film from their "stage" (behing their amps) during the set to get away from the ever approaching crowd.
