From humble beginnings and ever interested in music, Mutu began singing at a young age and took part in live performances throughout his formative years. Growing up under the watchful eye of his Australian/South African parents, he delved headfirst into his musical projects as a vocalist, songwriter, producer and most essentially as a performer.

Since he was first discovered in the clubs of his hometown of Canberra, Mutu has come into his own as an artist. Along the way, he has gained invaluable experience by working with many prominent artists in the music industry, including performing and recording alongside Marcia Hines and Noise Works’ front man Jon Stevens.

In the short time since moving to Sydney, Mutu has rapidly made a name for himself in the underage and urban scene, touring various club nights nationally. Most recently, Mutu performed as the support act for Flo Rida’s 2008 Australian Tour.

What sets Mutu apart from the rest is his unique style and sound. Having been influenced by a diverse range of artists and genres, ranging from Bob Marley to Jamiroquai to Daft Punk, Mutu is able to create a fusion of sound that appeals to a wider audience, blending flavours not only of RnB and Hip Hop but also Electro and Soul.

2009 will see Mutu continue to embark on his musical voyage with the much awaited release of his debut single and album. Working with only the top Pop & Urban producers in this country, including Stylaz Fuego, Audius, Israel and his own production company ‘Flynites’, he aims to set a new standard in sound, crossing multiple genres.

Mutu has paired up his own production group ‘Flynites’ with GrooveOn Media, to launch the release of his debut album, featuring an all-Australian production from Sydney and Melbourne. The single ‘Familiar’ is set to be the first release, produced by Styalz Fuego and mixed in the US by Brent Kolatalo (Engineer for Kanye West, Lenny Kravitz, Common) and is anticipated to be become a widely circulated club hit.
