Drowning Pool was formed in 1984 by Adam Elesh, Jon Thomas, Andrew Crane & Brett Smith. Shortly after, Scarface Charley was created by Adam Elesh and Brett Smith in 1986 as Drowning Pool's own label. This was due to the fact that waiting to be signed by a record label seemed fruitless. Drowning Pool were hoping to be signed by their favorite label at the time, and at the last minute, this deal fell through. So they decided to release their own music domestically and in so doing retained full creative control. They were soon offered a distribution deal through Caroline Records. Many distribution deals were to follow both at home and abroad. Scarface Charley has released music by both Drowning Pool and Mumbles and hopes to expand its catalog in the near future.

saw the release of Drowning Pool's first full length LP now referred to is as the "Bloody Boy" (for obvious reasons). This LP features material from the bands' cassette releases up until that point. "Festival of Healing" appeared on the 1986 Italian import compililation LP titled Viva Los Angeles featuring many underground bands like Savage Republic, 17 Pygmies, Carl Stone, and Bay of Pigs).

was an exciting year for the band as the Green Album was released featuring "Edith, Hold Out Your Hand". 1987 also saw the release of Satori 2xLP featuring selections from our previous demo cassettes "Festival Of Healing" can be found on this release. Previously "Festival of Healing" was featured on the 1986 Italian import compilation LP titled Viva Los Angeles featuring many underground indepedent bands like Savage Repulic, 17 Pygmies, Carl Stone, and Bay of Pigs.

found Nierika being released with a 1st edition of 1000 limited edition pressing. "True Blood" is a standout track on this LP

continued with the release of the instrumental Aphonia album on the Fundamental / Save label in the Netherlands. This album was also released in CD & cassette format.

took a wild turn as the band released a CD under the name Mumbles with vocalist Kelly Ray. This CD was packaged in a 10" sleeve and was available as an Italian import

finds Drowning Pool finishing a 12 song CD with all new material. Adam Elesh is currently pursuing his art under his alias Edem Elesh and links to his artwork can be found through our Scarface Charley website. Andrew Crane has his Acorn side project and Open Brand Productions website.
