PAUL TURNER

Raised in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand, Paul Turner’s interest in music was sparked while travelling through Europe and the US in his early twenties. After busking in London and doing the usual on the side stints as a construction worker to finance his trip, Paul moved to Australia, studied classical guitar and started to write his own songs. He continues to travel the world seeking both balance and inspiration.



Paul recorded his first album Clear Blue which was released in Australia and the US in 2008. The record was co-produced with Adrian Hanan (Taxi Ride, Androids).



To promote Clear Blue, Paul toured the East Coast of Australia prior to traveling to the US where he performed at the Santa Fe Muzik Festival and played various shows in Los Angeles, Seattle, New York, Woodstock, Chicago and Boston.



While touring the US, He also teamed up with the Portland Cello Project for a show at Portland’s Aladdin Theater.



Paul’s second album Another World due for release in 2010 was recorded in the US with Larry Crane (Elliot Smith, The Shins) at Jackpot Studio in Portland and Russel Pilling in Sydney Australia. Noted cellist Skip von Kuskie is featured as well as other talented Portland musicians Heather Wood on piano, Skip Elliot Bowman on bass and Shaun Oldham from the band Richmond Fontaine on the drums.
