Andre (PaDre) Holmes needed a name for an out-of-control rockin' ROCK band, and from a long list of potentials, stuck with the one which elicited a gut reaction at every utterance- "Multitude of Girls"-- a band that feasts on gut reactions.
The brainchild of PaDre Holmes, whose resume boasts tours playing bass for Mariah Carey, trumpet for Fishbone, and keys for Morris Day and the Time, MOG in turn boasts a sound, songwriting, and stage shenanigans all coming from their founding father's uniquely vast world of experience. Guitar tones invoking the wail and richness of Tool's Adam Jones, and surrounding grooves and hooks more reminiscent of a Prince album keep the initial enticement of the band's name coming full circle song by song.
Behind PaDre's guitar and larynx stand Kennith (Memphis-Vegas) Shepherd, whose 'multitude' of nicknames echoes only a few of the cities across which his drum sticks have found a thousand-plus skins, Bryan Dahl who has played keys in rock bands, chamber music groups, hotels, and bars everywhere from France and Germany to Guatemala, and last but never least, Mr. Kenny (K-Roc) Carroll-'face-smashing--ear-shattering' bassist, going on twenty years of **glorious low-end brutality!!!
With its roots deep in Hollywood and its digital apples already finding international love-bites, MOG has been through the Sunset strip's clubs, the Hollywood strip's clubs, the strip clubs in between, and is poised with the release of it's debut EP, "Vanessa is Dead", and ready to reach out to further multitudes. After a few years of playing alongside other great L.A. acts including The Memorials (feat. Thomas Pridgen), Year of The Dragon (feat. Dirty Walt of Fishbone), Freak Juice (feat. Tori Ruffin), Shawn Zuzek (of Daughters of Mara), DeWayne 'Blackbyrd' McKnight (of Parliament-Funkadelic), Lonnie Marshall (of Weapon of Choice), The Soul of John Black (feat. John Bigham), and a slew of others.
MOG hungers for more guts!
The band's music, videos, photos, and more is already accessible via its own smart phone app as well as Facebook, Twitter, Reverb Nation, Myspace, and Youtube.
