Hello,
My name is Edube Bandu and I manage the National touring band, Mugu Guymen (www.myspace.com/muguguymen). We were writing in hopes of securing an opening
slot on one of your bills in the future. The band has played many colleges in
Atlanta and is looking to arrange a show at a venue to host the many fans we
have made during trips to the area.
Things have grown quickly for Mugu Guymen over the last year and here are a
few key highlights I'd like to bring to your attention:
- The band's first single, "Show You Fire", has been 1 on Clear Channel's
Unsigned Top 10 for the last month earning spins on major Top 40 radio. The
band was featured on over 450 Clear Channel radio stations' websites for over 4
months as an artist to watch.
- Selected as the "poster band" to market the newly launched American Idol
Underground behind a full-scale P/R campaign which landed the band on Fox &
NBC Television as well as in various print campaigns.
- The band has been selected by Billboard magazine to appear as an "artist to
watch" and will be the featured band of the month on Billboard.com in March
2007.
- Campus Activities Magazine (the 1 buyer resource for college entertainment;
distributed at every campus in the US and many in Canada and overseas) named
Mugu Guymen one of the top-10 Music Picks for 2007 and readers voted the band
"Newest Rising Star of 2007".
- 1,500 member (to date) North American street team promoting the band via
CD samplers, internet promo, and flyer distribution at major concert and
collegiate events.
- Toured with/opened for: Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso U.F.O., Child Pornography, Rahdunes, A Pink Cloud, Indian Jewelry, La Otracina, Google Earth, Arthur Doyle, Magicicada, Drums Like Machine Guns, Mincemeat Or Tenspeed, Satanized, Pony Bones, Dave Matthews Band, Kawabata Makoto, Divided Like A Saints, Social Junk, Temple Of Bon Matin, Jarboe, Newton, The Beastie Boys, CJ Boyd, The Darkness, The USA Is A Monster, Lakes, Always, Cash Slave Clique, No-Fi, Watersports, It's A Trap, Yellow Crystal Star, Hubcap City (from belgium), Suffering Bastard, Laundry Room Squelchers, Black Meat, The Flaming Lips, Whiskey Priest, Carbon Leaf, Garbage Island, among others.
