Mt. Pleasant String Band

The Mt. Pleasant String Band is a five piece bluegrass/old-time band with a raw, high energy sound all there own. Drawing their influences from a wide range of roots music, Mt. Pleasant aims to educate there listeners on the other side of bluegrass, the old songs that many people have forgotten or never heard. They have a way of putting there stamp on the old tunes, often times arranging them in a unique way, or reviving the old-time versions. They also intend to leave there mark with there solid originals, based on rambling, heartache, hard times, hard living, and hard work. You can catch the boys pickin' all over the tri-state area nearly every week. Monthly shows include: Southgate House in Newport KY every 3rd Thursday and the Crows Nest in west side Cincinnati OH every 4th Saturday.
