Yung Millz is a talented individual, and he shines on every song he gets on, whether it is with other artists, or his own on solo tracks. What sets him apart from others trying to break into the music industry is his willingness to work hard and “go-getter” mentality. He already knows he was made for hip-hop, now he just has to show the rest of the world. Get ready, because Yung Millz is…

Q&A’s: WHAT YOU KNOW ‘BOUT MILLZ?

Q: How did you get your name, Yung Millz?

A: “Yung” came from the fact that I was basically the youngest out of the crew I used to chill with growing up. The second part of my name, “Millz,” came later, and I added that on because of my desire to make money. They say that you speak things into existence, so looking at the bigger picture, every time someone says my name, someone speaks of me, my grind, and my music, that translates to money for me.

Q: Why MySpace?

A: MySpace is a great networking tool, especially if you are an up and coming artist trying to get exposure and get your music heard. It’s a great way to connect with others that are serious about their craft and people who just love music in general. I listen to all the feedback that I get on MySpace because at the end of the day, music is really all about relating your personal thoughts and experiences with others. Also, it’s a great way to be in touch with people who enjoy my music.

Q: What projects are you working on?

A: Currently, I’m featured on tracks with, Sonne Black, DNA, Sour D, Young Don, some rappers from my hometown of Queens. I’m also doing collabos with artists from California. I’m planning on releasing a mixtape in the near future entitled “Make Change,” so look out for that hitting the streets soon.

Q: What mixtapes have you been on in the past?

A: I’m featured on "Certified Vol. 1- Vol.3," which are compilations from artists in NYC, especially Queens, who are coming up in the game just like myself.

Q: How did you get that opportunity?

A: The Opportunity worked itself out. It was like, I met a few people who were interested in music, then more and more people, until the next thing I know I have a network of rappers, producers, who were all from around my own neighborhood. Then after a couple weeks of knowing everybody, the opportunity to be featured on the "Certified Vol. 1" Mixtape came up. That mixtape got a lot of buzz, so I was also asked to be on “Certified Vol.2” and “Certified Vol.3.”

Q: Any plans to make your own label?

A: Well there is always that, I mean at the end of the day, you want to get a deal, you want to be established as an artist. I know it’s tough when you try to start your own label but it’s also to your advantage to have your own label because you can make your own rules. You don’t have to listen to the higher ups because you are the highest up, and you can do your own thing. So to answer the question, yes, I would like to create my own label, and "Crown City Ent." is the foundation of that.

Q: Why do you think you’re not signed yet?

A: That’s a tough question to answer because I mean, the work ethic is there, I grind on a daily basis for shows, features, money, venues, Myspace, but it seems as if nothing is being done. But at the end of the day, I feel like all that I’m doing is eventually going to pay off. This grind that I’m doing right now, this grind stage that I’m in, it’s just setting me up to appreciate the fruits of my labor, so to speak, in the future.

Q: Anything else you want to tell the people out there?

A: Check my MySpace its WWW.MYSPACE.COM/MrMillz. Definitely save me as a friend and comment the page, let me know what you think of the tracks, rate them, and also subscribe to my blog for the new updates: shows, what I’m doing, and where I’m at as far as this music thing. Definitely hit me up, I answer all my messages and comments, because I feel the relationship between an artist and a fan is crucial, so HOLLA AT ME, IIGHT, WUN…
