From a life of sexual addiction and alcoholism, twenty-seven year old Irwin Denny better known as “Mr. Militant” now boasts of a life of purity, and spreads the message of Abstinence in song and by his lifestyle.



After accepting Jesus Christ as Lord of his life on January 23 2007, following the death of his 19 year old brother, Mr. Militant admits that one of the hardest struggles for him was to forsake his promiscuous sexual lifestyle. ‘One of the first things God dealt with in my life was cleansing me and preparing me for my future.’ That seemingly insurmountable situation became minute with the help of good friends and the strong backing of his Love and Faith church family; led by Apostles Bernhard and Destiny Cadogan. ‘Before I got saved I thought living a promiscuous life and having multiple relationships was the way to go but now living a life of purity has an immeasurably satisfying feeling. When you trust in the Lord, he can free you of any burdens and show you a better life.’



Mr. Militant now experiences pure love, through his personal relationship with God, and the revelation of talents that he was unaware of before - namely his songwriting and singing/chanting abilities. Music is Mr. Militant’s greatest passion and he seeks to utilize this passion to represent the kingdom of God in an upright way.



Mr. Militant’s National Debut came about via his participation in The National HIV/AIDS Commission Song Competition, in which he entered with a track entitled Live Up. This song represents his life testimony and speaks of Mr. Militant’s former lifestyle as a ‘player’ with the sole agenda of building a record of sexual conquests. However, after recognizing that it was only by God’s grace that he survived his loose sexual lifestyle, his life was dramatically changed by deciding to trust God and live a life of abstinence. An extract from the song says this: “100% safe, 100% sure, 100% prevention better than 100% cure, abstinence will keep me from knocking death’s door; better than condoms for sure”.



The label with which Mr. Militant is signed, BLOODWASH RECORDS, is currently in the initial planning stages of having his first music video produced. The video will be based on the Live Up track, and it is hoped that the official launch date will be early in the New Year 2008. The video will be produced by Touch Star Media – an associate company of BLOODWASH RECORDS, both of which are headed by Mr. Ramon Dummett.



Mr. Militant wishes to expand his music career and plans to make his ministry an international one. He is presently working on completion of his debut album, which is set to be released mid-2008. The album will feature approximately fourteen (14) original Gospel Reggae/Dub tracks from this artiste and include collaborations with a few local and regional artistes as well.



Mr. Militant does not consider the length of time he has been saved to be a deterrent in his passion to be a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ. He instead encourages people to observe the fruit and the maturity that has come about thus far in his life, as a result of the commitment he has made to God.
