Nous les attendions, ils arrivent.
Willy SALZEDO, Olivier JEAN-ALPHONSE, Stéphane CASTRY et Jérôme CASTRY, 4 frères musiciens viennent en choeurs nous conter sur 15 titres, l’Amour, la Culture, la Douleur, les récits d’un peuple: l’Histoire Caribéenne.
Depuis 1995, Willy SALZEDO à travers l’album “Mi” de Tanya ST-VAL explore le mélange guitare acoustique-Ka, sur des textes engagés.
Pendant 5 ans, sans relâche, les 4 compères puisent dans la musique traditionnelle de chez eux pour sortir MOUN KARAYIB. Leurs compositions d’exception trouvent la voix saisissante d’émotion d’Olivier qui s’accorde à la basse rythmée de Stéphane et les harmonies du piano et de la guitare de Willy pour finir sur les tonitruantes batteries de Jérôme.
En 2003, le quartet se forme et parcourt la France. Ils sont notamment invités par Laurent VOULZY au Festival « Nuits de Champagne » de Troyes la même année.
Amoureux de leurs îles, attachés à leurs valeurs, MOUN KARAYIB se sert de son héritage pour véhiculer des messages. Ils empruntent la créolité du Ka, la saveur du Zouk, l’authenticité de la Biguine et l’âme du Jazz. Le groupe embarque ainsi son public dans des mélodies qui swinguent et lui propose un voyage culturel à travers le Temps. On redécouvre les sonorités d’une Coutume et plus largement contribue à son désenclavement.
MOUN KARAYIB nous offre aujourd’hui une musique identitaire et ambassadrice qui se veut un hommage à la connaissance et à la reconnaissance de leurs Racines.

We were waiting for them… Here they are !
Willy Salzedo, Olivier Jean-Alphonse, Stéphane Castry and Jérôme Castry, four friends, united by their love of music, are about to tell us in chorus about Love, Culture, Sorrows and Stories of a people : the Caribbean people.
Since 1995, in “Mi”, (a Tanya Saint-Val album), Willy Salzedo has experienced the mixing of acoustic guitar with a specific drum from the Caribbean, the ka, while Tanya Saint-Val was singing committed texts.
During five years, without failing, the four friends worked on traditional music to give birth to Moun Karayib. Their exceptional compositions are carried by Olivier’s wonderful voice, full of emotion, Stephane’s rythmic bass and double bass, Willy’s harmonies on piano and guitar and Jérôme’s thundering percussions.
In 2003, the quartet forms and travels through France. Laurent Voulzy notably invited them to the “Nuits de Champagne”, a musical festival in Troyes, the same year.
In love with their islands, bound to their values, Moun Karayib use their legacy to convey messages. The sound of ka, the flavour of zouk, the authenticity of beguine, and the soul of jazz constantly inspire them. The band take their audience to swinging tunes and propose a cultural trip through times.
Thanks to them, we can discover again the sounds of custom and contribute to have it recognized all over the world.
Today, Moun Karayib offer a music full of identity and a tribute to the acknowledgement of their roots.
