MOSH are a stoner/power-rock band born in 2005 in the city of Oporto(Portugal). In October of that year, they requested the experience and knowledge of producer Mário Barreiros, the number one guy in the country, to record their first EP "The Damage Done".

Between 2005 and 2006, they played several gigs, two of them with greater exposure: Festival Vilar de Mouros (the oldest festival in Portugal) on the main stage, with bands like Soulfly, Moonspell, Cradle of Filth,etc and also played with Ill Niño as a warm up act, in Oporto.

In the year of 2007 they started a small tour of clubs/bars all over the country and did some dates in Spain. On the same year the band recorded their first video for the single "Where are you now" that premiered on MTV Portugal and is also available on the MySpace profile of the band. As a direct result to all the hype surrounding the video they were one of the five nominated bands for the MTV's European Music Awards, representing Portugal in the category of New Sounds of Europe. They were also included in the Hit List of MTV Portugal for several weeks and this gave the band even bigger exposure resulting in many interviews for national radios and newspapers.

2008 was a year to re-think the MOSH formula and focus on writing new songs for the album that saw the light of day on January 2010.

Meanwhile in 2009 they continued with the heavy touring playing almost everywhere in the country, opening up for Alabama Thunderpussy,Firebird,Valient Thorr and also had some dates in Spain.

In June of 2009 they were the support act for Marilyn Manson in Oporto, a performance highly praised by portuguese press.They are currently promoting the new album called "Bastard" hoping it becomes a breath of fresh air in the portuguese rock scene.



Os MOSH são uma banda com influências Stoner/Power-Rock nascidos no Porto em 2005. Em Outubro desse ano solicitaram a experiência e o conhecimento do produtor Mário Barreiros, o número um do país, para gravar o primeiro EP intitulado "The Damage Done".

Entre 2005 e 2006, fizeram vários concertos um pouco por todo o lado mas dois deles tiveram maior relevância:

O Festival Vilar de Mouros (o mais antigo festival em Portugal) no palco principal, com bandas como Soulfly, Moonspell, Cradle of Filth, etc e a primeira parte do concerto dos Ill Niño no Porto.

No ano de 2007 iniciaram uma pequena tournée por todo o país em bares e clubes de pequena dimensão e chegaram mesmo a fazer algumas datas em Espanha.

No mesmo ano gravaram o primeiro vídeo para o single "Where are you now" que teve a sua estreia na MTV Portugal e encontra-se disponível neste momento no MySpace da banda.

O resultado directo de todo o reconhecimento público que o vídeo teve foi a nomeação para os Prémios Europeus de Música da MTV na categoria Novos Sons da Europa. Foram também incluídos na Hit List da MTV Portugal durante várias semanas o que proporcionou uma maior exposição da banda e um consequente interesse dos media que os requisitaram para várias entrevistas.

2008 foi um ano de reflexão e de composição de novos temas que viram finalmente a luz do dia em Janeiro de 2010. Entretanto em 2009 continuaram a tocar intensivamente pelo país e foram mais uma vez chamados para fazerem as primeiras partes dos concertos de grandes bandas como os Alabama Thunderpussy, os Firebird, os Valient Thorr, etc e percorreram novamente terras espanholas.

Em Junho de 2009 foram também convidados para fazer a primeira parte do concerto de Marilyn Manson no Coliseu do Porto, uma actuação bastante elogiada pela imprensa portuguesa. Os MOSH encontram-se actualmente a promover o seu novo álbum intitulado "Bastard" na esperança que o mesmo se torne numa lufada de ar fresco no panorama rock nacional.
