ITALIAN: Il nome Mordana deriva dall'idea di “mordere la vita assaporandone tutte le sfumature, vivere nel modo più puro ogni semplice emozione, metabolizzarle e trasformarle in musica da condividere con chi ascolta.” Il progetto Mordana nasce nel 2002 a Carpineto Romano, in provincia di Roma: Andrea Campagna, Matteo Centi e Luca Cappuccio, nucleo iniziale, nel 2003 vedono l'arrivo del batterista Giuseppe Cacciotti, durante il 2005 arriva l’attuale batterista Corrado Di Rofi. La composizione del gruppo è quella base: voce, chitarra, basso e batteria. La formazione ha iniziato a lavorare in sala prove nel gennaio 2003, alla fine del mese di giugno è stato missato il primo demo "Piramidale" contenente 5 brani originali. Durante il 2003 e il 2004, il gruppo ha sviluppato 18 brani originali e un secondo demo di 6 brani, “2° Città” che viene recensito da Rocksound Magazine. Nel 2005/2006 i Mordana si dedicano quasi completamente ai concerti dal vivo e partecipano alla data romana del Jestrairock con i FIUB, festival itinerante dell’Etichetta indipendente Jestrai di Bergamo, nel mese di giugno il brano UoMotel viene trasmesso dalla trasmissione Demo di Radio Rai risultando tra i primi dieci nella classifica di gradimento votata sul web. Nel 2007 i Mordana partecipano con i loro brani alla colonna sonora del serial tv “Backpackers” prodotto da Channel Five in onda in Australia, Canada e Malesia, ancora ad aprile live al Jestrairock a Carpineto Romano con i Disfunzione, a settembre vincono il Suono Anch’io Music Contest e si esibiscono sul palco dell’Estragon di Bologna nell’ambito della Festa Nazionale de L’Unità. Negli ultimi mesi dell’anno si dedicano alle registrazioni del terzo demo di 6 brani dal titolo “L’ultimo dei primi passi” presentato in diretta radiofonica l’8 gennaio 2008 dall’emittente romana Radio Città Futura. Altre emittenti hanno dedicato spazio ai Mordana: Radio Rock, Radio Meridiano 12, Radio Reporter 97 (To), Punto Radio Cascina (Pi), Nova Radio Città Futura (Fi), Radio Bari Città Futura, Radio Più Catania, Radio Press di Cagliari, Radio Sapienza a Roma, Fuso Radio, Radio Alternative, Radio 192 e Radio Galileo di Terni dove il primo marzo è stato presentato il nuovo CD in diretta con una lunga intervista e performance live acustica scaricabile in podcast dal sito www.ephebia.it. Sempre nel mese di marzo i Mordana aprono il "Casasonica After Show Party" all’Init di Roma con i Petrol e il DJ set dei Subsonica. In Aprile i Mordana partecipano ad una giornata speciale live a Valmontone con Luca Barbarossa, Eugenio Finardi, Silvia Salemi e Neri Marcorè, sempre in aprile realizzano il videoclip di "For One Night". Un'altra nota di rilievo è la recensione nella rubrica dedicata ai demo nel numero di giugno-luglio 2008 di Rocksound Magazine. A settembre finalisti dello Stereolab MF di Mercato San Severino (SA) vincono il premio "Miglior Esibizione Scenica", partecipano alla Notte Bianca romana e al Palude Festival di Latina tra le band "Artist Opening" a Giorgio canali, partecipano al censimento di Avvertenze Generali esibendosi tra le migliori band selezionate all’evento romano “Tube Station Next Stop”.
ENGLISH: Mordana’s name coming up from the idea to bite life, tasting all the nuances, living in a pure way every simple emotion to metabolize and process in music to share with the audience. Mordana’s project was born in 2002 in Carpineto Romano, a small town near Rome in Italy, Andrea Campagna, Matteo Centi and Luca Cappuccio are the first core of the band, then in 2003 the drummer Giuseppe Cacciotti joined the band. During the 2005 come along the actual drummer Corrado Di Rofi. The band has a standard rock set: The voice, guitar, bass guitar and drum.The band start to practice in January 2003 and at the end of June was out the first CD Demo “Piramidale” with a track list of 5 original songs. During the 2003 and the 2004 the band wrote other 18 songs and a second CD demo with a track list of 6 songs called “2° Città” this CD was reviewed on Rocksound Magazine. In the 2005/2006 Mordana was generally busy on gigs, and one of the best was in Rome at Jestrairock Festival with FIUB, an itinerant event organised from Jestrai, one of the most important Italian Indie Label. In June the song “UoMotel” was broadcast on the national Radio Rai in a Radio Programme called “Demo”. In the 2007 Mordana’s songs are in Serial TV called “Backpackers” as soundtrack, broadcast on Channel Five in Australia, Canada and Malaysia, again in April live at Jestrairock in Carpineto Romano with Disfunzione, in September Mordana won the “Suono anch’io web contest” and played at the Estragon in Bologna during the national “Festa de l’Unità”. At the end of the year 2007 Mordana was in studio recording to work on the third CD Demo called “L’Ultimo dei primi passi” just out live broadcast the 8th of January on Radio Città Futura. Other radio station broadcast Mordana’s new songs and interview: Radio Rock, Radio Meridiano 12, Radio Reporter 97 (To), Punto Radio Cascina (Pi), Nova Radio Città Futura (Fi), Radio Bari Città Futura, Radio Più Catania, Radio Press di Cagliari, Radio Sapienza a Roma, Fuso Radio, Radio Alternative, Radio 192 e Radio Galileo were Mordana broadcast a long interview and an unplugged live set downloadable from www.ephebia.it. In march Mordana open the roman night of the "Casasonica After Show Party" with Petrol and the Subsonica dj-set. In april Mordana played in a special day with Luca Barbarossa, Eugenio Finardi, Silvia Salemi e Neri Marcorè. In june 2008 Rocksound Magazine reviewed “L’ultimo dei primi passi” in the Demo section. In April Mordana record a video clip of the song “For One Night” that you could watch and enjoy in our space. In september Mordana are finalist on Stereolab MF in Mercato San Severino (SA) where won Prize "Best Live Performance", they played also during The Notte Bianca in Rome and to the Palude Festival in Latina as band Artist Opening to Giorgio Canali, Mordana take part in Avvertenze Generali census and played in Roma's event "Tube Station Next Stop" as one of the best band.
