When Budapest's THE MOOG started to play music, they had no idea that they were about to set off on a journey that would eventually whisk them far across the seas, release them into a whirlwind of rock 'n' roll and land them on America's doorstep as one of the first Hungarian rock bands signed to an American label. THE MOOG are an explosive combination of alternative rock, 60s garage, and art punk/pop made unique by the band's catchy Eastern European rock 'n roll touch.

The new single, "You Raised A Vampire" is being released on 7" clear gold vinyl and is the ultimate garage-goth dance rocker for the 21st Century, with its dramatic interplay of theatrical vocals, Moog synthesizer hooks, double-picked electric guitars and disco-infused hi-hat and drum action. The song is an ode to romantic love with vampiric aspirations and re-introduces The Moog to the world as the premier rock band from Eastern Europe.

If the A-side doesn't leave a deep bite mark in the neck of the current rock scene, how about a Bauhaus classic for the B-side? THE MOOG sinks their teeth into "The Passion Of Lovers" – the UK band's 1981 gem - and make it their own. Their arrangement so impressed Bauhaus/Love & Rockets bassist/vocalist David J that he joined in and added backing vocals, bass harmonica, and the stamp of art-rock authenticity that only an original Bauhaus member can provide.

"Hard-rockin' Budapest, Hungary quintet. These guys can flat out play, and were they actually from London—they'd be huge already. Make way!
–Jack Rabid, THE BIG TAKE-OVER
"With Buzzcocks-sounding intros and fuzzy pop bodies… they have a F*cking star with a capital F in lead singer Tonyo, who struts, preens, and confronts with the best of them."
–TINY MIX TAPES
"These charming new-millennium romantics propel 'You Raised a Vampire' with rich synth waves, but also set off their guitars like sirens, making them attractive to rockers and popsters alike."
–Christa Titus, BILLBOARD
"The album boasts rough-around-the-edges garage pop tunes, and "Everybody Wants" is a catchy three-chord gem."
–SPIN.com
"A tremendous step forward. Razzmatazz Orfeum is the surefire sign of a band ready to ascend to unimaginable heights."
–ABSOLUTEPUNK.NET
"Good luck getting this pop gem from The Moog out of your head."
–ESQUIRE
"(THE MOOG) have that angular, dance-rock sound akin to groups like Bloc Party and Arctic Monkeys, but they manage to pack a lot more wallop and melody into their music."
–Geo Hagan, YRB MAGAZINE / 4 STARS
"With huge hooks on songs like "You Raised A Vampire" and "Panic" from their sophomore effort, Razzmatazz Orfeum , due out July 21st on MuSick Recordings, I can safely say they're on of Hungary's biggest pop bands."
–IndieBall

"The Moog effortlessly whip up a moody, keyboard-drenched slice of goth-pop, recalling the best of Bauhaus--which may explain their wicked cover of 'The Passion of Lovers'."
–METROMIX
"It's a perfect explosion of styles held together, like a New Wave Garage Rock Post Punk Dance party, and you know what? Everybody has been invited."
–Marcel Feldmar, THE RED ALERT

"The Beauty of The Moog's debut is that the band's exuberance leaps out of the speakers and dances around the room on every track"
