MOMENTAN, one of todays upcoming crews in german/international HipHop music started in 2000. The MCs J.R. and Michael Mic and the DJs Buttafinga and Dirty Diggler got to know each other atfreestyle and open mic sessions at different venues.

After making a name for themselves individually on the underground scene the four joint forces to release the tape "Skills wie Samt und Seide" in 2001. Without having a label or distribution they went on to sell over 1.000 copies at shows, local record shops and started to work with the well known New York based label Sevenheads on a german-american 12" project. The result of this collaboration was Momentan`s 2004 debut vinyl 12" "Was du gibst" b/w "Wie lang man braucht" including guest appearances by highly respected underground veterans Asheru (of the Unspoken Heard) and Wordsworth.

The crew already showed their future potential on this single, displaying flawless boom bap production and lyrical ability paired with a positive message. Being fed up with the label situation for quality underground rap in Germany the group decided to start their very own label in 2005 Mad Flava Music/NiceLikeThat Recordings and clinched a distribution deal with one of europeans biggest independent hiphop distributors Groove Attack.

Two vinyl single releases followed in 2005: the critically acclaimed "Circle of Life" b/w "So siehts aus" by J.R. and Momentan`s "Work/Für euch/Zeitgeist" 12".

Both records featured production by one of the hottest U.S. underground producers "The Saint" from New York City. By this time the group gained more and more attention by hiphop heads all over Germany, Switzerland, Austria as well as Japan. By constantly playing gigs, being on the road and improving their live show Momentan received a reputation as hot live performers.

In early 2006 the group teamed up with german producer talent Rene Ortiz to release the "Soulmates EP" which featured Ex-Artifact El da Sensei on the already classic underground song "Good Times". After the great success of the this record Momentan went on to tour europe together with El da Sensei and O.C. of DITC.

In the same year Guiness records, Japan released Momentan´s first exclusive Japan full length album "So far, so good" (The Vinyl Files) with previously only on vinyl released tracks paired with some brand new unreleased material.

NiceLikeThat Recordings now presents the long awaited Momentan debut album "Finderlohn", including 19 brand new tracks with appearences by Artists like Rakaa Iriescience, El da Sensei and Sumsemann, featuring productions by PH7, The Saint, ExperT, Rene Ortiz and J.R.
