Molly Maguires

Way down deep in the southeast region of Texas, in a city called Beaumont, amidst numerous chemical refineries and swamp land, comes the Molly Maguires. Beaumont's favorite surf influenced instrumental band. Formed in the summer of 2002, the Molly Maguires have made a name for themselves playing with bands such as The Reverend Horton Heat, Nashville Pussy, The Murder Junkies, and countless others. Taking influence from bands ranging from classic surf artists like The Ventures & Dick Dale, to modern favorites Los Straitjackets, to classic punk icons like the Dead Kennedys & Bad Brains, the Molly Maguires have fused numerous styles to concoct their own unique blend of what many would call "Surf/Punk". The Molly Maguires choose to not limit themselves by adopting one genre, but instead, play whatever gets the audience on their feet, moving & shaking along with the band themselves. The Molly Maguires consist of Jake Hooker (Guitar), Jackson White (Guitar) & Dallas Holmes (Drums). In the works for the band is an EP of older, unreleased material, as well as a full length follow up to their debut album entitled "Dirty Surf", which the band explains as a decsription of their sound as well as an homage of sorts to the murky waters and tainted shores of the Gulf Coast which they call home. "Dirty Surf" is out now on Smelly Menace Records. So, keep your eyes peeled because the Molly Maguires will be coming to your town soon to shake things up.
