MOJO PROJECT, un caso único dentro del panorama musical en España: Un grupo diferente que combina la electrónica con una poderosa banda de músicos para lograr un fabuloso directo.



Funk, Jazz, Soul, Flamenco, Latin, ritmos brasileños y africanos se mezclan con la música electrónica como elemento aglutinador.

El resultado: un sonido homogéneo y diferente con el personalísimo sello Mojo Project.



La banda posee un potente directo: una contundente sección rítmica formada por bajo, batería, guitarra, cuatro versátiles voces y un DJ que cubre los temas con programaciones, sintetizadores, scratches y efectos.

Más de 300 conciertos en los últimos 4 años.

Mojo Project empezó en el año 2000 ofreciendo conciertos en pequeños locales de Madrid. Poco a poco, gracias al boca a boca, vieron como aumentaba exponencialmente la asistencia de público a sus conciertos, hasta conseguir llenar grandes salas. Y todo sin un solo álbum en el mercado.



El grupo dio un salto cualitativo al ganar en 2001 el premio Imagina rock, concedido por la Sociedad General de Autores (SGAE.), imponiéndose por unanimidad ante más de 900 bandas de toda España.

En el 2004 se produjo el debut definitivo con el lanzamiento de su primer disco “Taste the mojo” (editado por Lovemonk): un total de 13 temas sorprendentes y de gran calidad, respaldados y muy bien acogidos por la crítica musical y el público español y europeo.

Ese mismo año, el diario El PAIS les otorgó el “Premio al Grupo Revelación 2004” (El País de las Tentaciones), lo que reforzó el reconocimiento del grupo a nivel nacional.

La gira de este primer disco fue un gran éxito, con más de 200 conciertos por toda España y algunas ciudades europeas.



Debido al éxito de este primer disco, en 2005 se edita su segundo disco (también en Lovemonk), Re Mojo Project, que consiste en la remezcla de los temas de Taste the mojo realizada por importantes Dj’s de la escena nacional e internacional como Greenskeepers, Sumo, John Arnold, David Penn, Fundación Tony Manero o Kiko Navarro.

Con estos 2 álbumes, Mojo Project se afianza en el panorama musical español, y cuenta con un público fiel y seguidor, pero también ganan adeptos en otros países, teniendo un gran éxito sus discos en países como Japón.



Su tercer álbum, Revolution (editado por El Caimán Records), aparece en Marzo de 2006 con cambio de formación: en vez de una cantante, se incorporan al grupo cuatro hermanos de origen guineano con cuatro voces únicas, lo que aporta todavía más fusión, versatilidad y ritmo a la banda.

MOJO PROJECT se ha consolidado como una de las referencias del directo. Después de su extensa gira con su primer disco recorriendo España y varios países como Alemania y Francia, actualmente se encuentran en

la promoción de su segundo disco, para el que ya han actuado en más de 40 ciudades españolas y preparan su gira europea

Funk, Jazz, Soul, Flamenco, Latin, African and Brazilian beats are mixed with electronic music as a connecting element. The result: a homogeneous and unique sound with the very personal mark of Mojo Project.



The band possesses a powerful live show with a solid drums section, a DJ that complements it with his samplings, synthesisers and effects, and four very powerful and versatile voices.



More than 300 concerts in the last four years. Three albums in the market.



MOJO PROJECT presents Revolution, their second album after Taste the Mojo. Songs that submerge in their successful and unique fusion of electronic music with acoustic elements. Diverse ryhtms and unique styles that are thrown together into the blender of this powerful band from Madrid. Revolution preserves the MOJO trademark: Dance songs containing essences of other musics and other continents. Only this time these songs share their space with songs at mid tempo that contain exotic, sensual melodies charged with feeling. This work includes tracks with Anglo-Saxon influences like Good Bye Song To You, Not the Same, or Midnight Call. But the difference between this album and the last one is that the flamenco songs in Spanish gain much more spotlight, e.g. No More Crying, Ritmo Kandela (with the special appearance of La Mari, lead vocalist of Chambao) and Moises. But we can also hear Portuguese in the track Esta Bon, and French in Elle Me Prend La Tête. Finally we listen to bubi (a tribal dialect from Equatorial Guinea) in the track Waisô. And yes! There is still plenty of room for Funk, Flamenco, Soul, House, Latin and World Beats. Maica, Ladis, Marti, and Ivan are the new additions of this band, four brothers of Guinean descent. They began singing since their early childhood. Their voices function as a one and only instrument with different shades of color and beauty, and the necessary strength to be a part of this revolution. After an extensive tour throughout Spain and other countries with their first album,(more than 300 gigs in the last 3 years) the band prepares once again the strong point of Mojo Project, their powerful performance Live and Direct with 6 musicians and 4 voices on stage, which is what has given this band their well deserved national recognition. This album marks the turning point of MOJO PROJECT. Revolution contains new elements for a new project. A whole new way to make and understand their music.
