Moa Anbessa is a collective of producers, musicians, djs, singers and promoters. "Moa Anbessa Italy" is the indie label's name, and it's strongly characterized by a roots and dub reggae sound and by conscious message. All music is created, written, played, recorded by Moa Anbessa' stable musicians and singers by the inspiration of the Lord Almighty Jah Rastafari. All the music released by the label is recorded, edited and mixed at Moa Anbessa Studio, in Venice - Italy.
After many years of hard work and experience in the studio and many roots and dub sessions around Italy, “Moa Anbessa Italy” released its first vinyl on Jan. 2006 (Command 12’’) with 4 vocal cuts, one instrumental and one dub version. This Ep was mixed by Dj Neil Perch at (Zion Train). This release was quite immediately repressed due to huge request from all around Europe. Following the same direction, a second production had been released on Feb.2007 (Forward 12’’). It was sold out within few months and was regularly played at many roots and dub dances aroud Europe during '07. Thanks to an excellent distribution by Dubwise Prod. (London - Uk) , these two releases allowed Moa Anbessa to get a good outernational response.
On Jan. 2008 Moa Anbessa released Holy Fire 12'' featuring all stable’ singers and musicians. This release got heavy rotation on all biggest worldwide sound systems as Jah Shaka and Aba Shanti I, just to name two of them.
On April 2009 the label released a ten inch named "I Know"
In the meantime, the crew had started to play around Europe with a short tournè in Germany on 2007 and six sessions in France on May 2008. In the beginning of 2008 Moa Anbessa' singers were guested by Roots Hi Tek for a show in London.
On April 2008 Moa Anbessa was included in Universal Egg's "Lead with the Bass 3" with one vocal and one dub version alongside great international dub artists such as Vibronics, Love Grocer, Zion Train
In the last two yers the crew was focused on studio work and a live set show, and took part to many important dub events around Italy.
All Moa Anbessa's elements are simultaneously involved in other projects, organization of events and artistic collaborations: all singers with different labels and the Moa Anbessa Studio with mixes and remixes for various producers and crews.
In the live version Moa Anbessa remains a very flexible project, with two different sets: as a sound system with a selecta, four singers and one mc, or a real live stage set made by a live mixing dubmaster plus all stable' singers.
Dub and roots music composed and mixed at Moa Anbessa Studio and other from the biggest studios in Europe, passing through Uk roots and stepper productions, to the new electronic-digital dubwise era.
Powerful and conscious speeches on the mic and four singers each one with his own original style and flow.
