In Misty Roses we live out - digitally and organically - our mutual musical fixations. We love sounds that are dark, cinematic and captivating, both bewitching and menacing. There is often a hint of danger in even the most sweet and beautiful song. We have a great love for the "glamorous easy listening music" of artists such as Dusty Springfield, Burt Bacharach, Scott Walker, Serge Gainsbourg, Jimmy Webb, Piero Piccioni, Bobbie Gentry, Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra, Percy Faith, Ennio Morricone, Astrud Gilberto, and Piero Umiliani. But since huge orchestras are problematic for us at this point - (orchestras are often ill-tempered and rowdy - they make unreasonable demands like money, food, shelter, etc.) - we are looking very much to the future, and the possibilities electronics offer in helping us create our own dark soundtracks.
