Early praise for Ooh La La, Sha Sha.

The band channels Sly and the Family Stone and Prince into upbeat retro R&B anthems, guaranteed to swing some hips. -The Boston Globe

It's rare to hear a band having so much fun on record. And that doesn't even come close to the sexual explosion of their live show. They put on one of my favorite shows I've ever seen.

-Music for Robots

"Vanilla Place" shows off nearly all the band's appeal in less than four minutes: bright layered melodies, funky rhythms, and lead singer Daddy Wrall's charming, El DeBarge-like vocals.

Who is Miss Fairchild?

Mysterious Pop/R&B sensation Miss Fairchild is an 8-piece Boston based Show Band that crafts original songs full of singalong hooks, snappy drums, warm, fuzzy synths and horns dipped in 60's Soul. This engaging mélange, a sound that they call "Good Time Music", awes party people throughout the Northeast and beyond, but to understand their distinctiveness, you would need to be stranded on a small island for your entire adolescence.

Nantucket Island, best known these days as a playground for the rich and famous, might seem an unlikely incubator for a "Pop" band. But for decades, the island has also been a haven for a community of artists and musicians, a creative milieu that helped bring the talent of Miss Fairchild to fruition.

As young boys, the band learned to sing and play in the island's church. In this welcoming environment, singer Daddy Wrall, the minister's son, recruited Schuyler Dunlap (instrumentalist) and Sammy Bananas (producer) to be the backup band for Sunday services, covering songs by the likes of Curtis Mayfield, Sly & The Family Stone, Prince, Tony Toni Toné and Maxwell.

Having honed their skills in bars and happenings, these three recruited Letter J (drummer), Todd "The Rocket" (percussionist/sampler), Trick Johnson (bassist), Mat Willmott "The Section" (saxophone) and Tom "Duck" Hunt (trumpet), and set sail for The City – Boston.

The past few years have seen the release of 2007's Pop-Funk LP Ooh La La, Sha Sha, and 2008's Won't Be Your Kept Woman EP, both of which have been brought to an international audience through licensing for film and TV programs, such as MTV's The Real World.

The top of 2010 sees the digital release of "Soda Pop", a free MP3 single, which features Miss Fairchild's signature soundscape. The new single shows traces of the bands Miss Fairchild covered in their youth. With it's guitar driven sound and belting refrain, drawing on such inspirations as The Cars, early Prince and Michael McDonald, the song succeeds as a bubbly sweet concoction of Pop Rock and Blue-Eyed Soul, expertly blended.

The Miss Fairchild Show Band continues to debut their "Good Time" songs to excited fans and intrigue new-comers with every performance.
