A big voice accompanied by a small instrument, Milly Blue's music is written on ukulele. Tuneful tales of museum curators, horrifying monsters and travelling heroes paint pictures of love and loss. Rooms fall silent as she sings and tiny pins have been heard to drop from the sudden-still hands of those entranced by the soulful timbre of her sound.

Having first sung professionally for Basement Jaxx, guesting on four tracks across two albums and gaining individual praise from NME for the "dreamy romanticism" her voice brought to the mix, her collaborations continued with Leeds band The Sunshine Underground, FC Kahuna, NY-based electro duo Kerowack and to live performances with Homecut, Luke Flowers (The Cinematic Orchestra) and Andreya Triana (Flying Lotus, Bonobo).

She is London-based (though Manchester born and bred) and has performed live on Resonance FM, been featured on Tom Robinson's BBC Radio 6 show 'Introducing' and toured the UK with Motown Legends like Jimmy Ruffin and Ben E King. Now her distinctive solo sound has pricked up the ears of two US record companies including Epic and she is taking the Milly Blue experience Stateside to New York for gigs and radio play in mid-March. This isn't before she and her band have gone into the studio with producer and experimental pioneer Andrew Hung (Fuck Buttons, ATP Records) to record her first EP due for release in September.
