Hip-Hop artist Michael DJuan Page was born in Elgin, IL into a life of struggling and hardship. With his mother and father incapable of raising him and his four sisters, their Grandmother Mildred Starks took it upon herself to raise her grandchildren. She was determined to instill the same morals, values, and hard work ethic that she believed in so strongly. As a young, newly disciplined child, Page began uncovering his amazing talent for writing, but never developed an intense passion for creating rhymes until witnessing Jay-Z perform live at the United Center in Chicago. Jay-Z’s ability to capture an entire audience with his compelling lyrics inspired young Page. He began competing in neighborhood battles against rappers twice his age - and winning. Grandmother Stark’s discipline, love and dedication to keeping Page away from the street life gave him the opportunity to graduate high school and pursue his dreams of becoming a hoop star. He moved to Iowa on a college basketball scholarship; it was there where he was first introduced to a recording studio. After just one recording session, Page’s hoop dreams became a thing of the past as his eyes were opened to the opportunities awaiting him in the hip-hop industry.
Page is a hustler, hungry for success, all the while remaining true to himself and his fans, making him one of the Midwest’s finest. Before even signing to a major record label, Page has accomplished numerous feats that have made others in the industry take him and his music seriously. He has graced the front cover of On Campus magazine, built his MySpace page profile views to 80,000 with his hit single played over 20,000 times in the last 8 months. He has toured throughout the country building his fan base, opening for artists including Lil Wayne, T-Pain, Young Jeezy, T.I., Young Joc, UGK, Webbie, Huey, Ray J and Ryan Leslie. His hit single, "Show Yo Swag," has continued to receive regular requested spins on Minneapolis’ 1 Hip-Hop radio station, B96. Page has also been featured on BET's 'RapCity.'
To help take is career to the next level, Page has also been pursuing opportunities on the business side of the hip-hop industry. He started his own entertainment and production company, P.A.G.E.M.U.S.I.C. LLC. Together, P.A.G.E.M.U.S.I.C. and Mike Page unveiled his first music video on YouTube for his single "Show Yo Swag.” The video was directed by Justin Staggs of Minneapolis, MN and received a staggering 13,000 hits in the 1st week of going public. While his career is progressing to a level beyond any other independent artist in the game right now, Page knows he hasn’t reached the top yet – and his confidence never staggers. He isn’t afraid to take risks and he will continue to work non-stop in the studio in New York City and Minneapolis, constantly writing and creating new hits to build up his catalogue to over 100 completed songs. Page is currently working with his producers in the studio, writing and recording for his new independent album – VOICE OF THE PEOPLE – scheduled to drop on January, 2009.
