I am Michelle Hotaling (pronounced ho-TAL-ing). I've been dared to change my name to "Michelle Hot" with a moniker of "M. Ho." I'd only consider doing so if I start covering Beyonce and J. Lo. I was raised outside of Woodstock, NY, in the commonly mispronounced town of Coxsackie. I'm an artist of sorts. My "career" began as a Bette Midler groupie at the age of 17. The craziness of such travels were chronicled in a book- "Bette or Bust" (published 2001 by Random House/Xlibris- check it out, if you have a shared interest in drag queens, death-defying bus rides, and yes. glitter).



My greatest passion is music, particularly music from the '70's. I'm working on a new project, "Sweet Clarity" and you can check out my first venture, "Chained by Dreams" produced by my awesome partner-in-crime, Scott Slater. I've been on a bus to "Nowhere's Land." I've ran through the desert in a pair of pink panties and a fur coat pretending it was December in Vermont for a lame CBS pilot. I've appeared on the West Wing and a handful of WB shows. I've met all my idols that are still alive (such a curse to have not been born twenty years sooner!). I hit the ground running fast as I could, moved to NYC as a teenager, and plowed through college by the age of 19. It took all this running for me to see that life really is about the journey, and not the destination. My life so far has been fueled by my passions, music, and my inability to accept no as an answer. It all goes back to a paper-weight I was given at the age of ten, inscribed with these words. "What you dare to dream, dare to do."
