Melky Jean AKA Melky Sedeck is a singer,songwriter,composer/multi instrumentalist and the younger sister of Fugees founder Wyclef Jean.She has contributed songs to soundtracks like"Love Jones"(their breakout single"I got a love Jones")"Little Nikki","Two Can Play That Game","The Hurricane"("Still I rise"),and she is the voice of Sanaa Lathan in HBO's hit "Disappearing Acts". She is a Grammy nominated song writer who has written for the likes of Sinead O'Connor and Regina Belle. Although her first album "Sister Brother" fell victim to a universal merger it was critically acclaimed by Rolling Stones Magazines who named her one of the best underground acts. She has been critically acclaimed by Vibe magazine, Marie Claire, and even Cosmopolitan magazine went as far as to compare her to a young Gladys Knight. Her accolades do not stop here either. Her press book contains over 100 magazine publications from around the world.



If she isn't touring with her brother Wyclef jean, she can be found performing with her band doing"A Tribute to Soul Music". In the show Melky incorporates her own original songs with some of her favorite soul legends like Betty Wright, Joe Cocker, Celia Cruz, and Tina Turner to name a few.

Given her extensive musical and performing career, she has still made time to give forward. Her most gratifying accomplishment to date is an organization she has founded and serves as the chair, The Carma Foundation. Her own personal success as a recording artist has enabled her to tie in other entertainment personalities, like the incomparable Patti LaBelle, to lend their celebrity to contribute to the lives of Haitian women and children. Melky's production company Carma Inc serves as the executive producer to "I AM" a care for Haiti music project she produced featuring many of todays international artist like Angelique Kidjoe, Sean Paul, KRS1, Talib Kweli, Brooke Hogan, and a duet with her brother Wyclef Jean. 100% of the proceeds of this album will go the Care organization, and her brother Wyclef's Yele Foundation. Her charitable praises have recently been publicized in Washington luxury, Essence, Sister 2 Sister and I am Powerful magazine.
