Medium Cool is a New York rock band whose songs "drive at the heart like a freight train full of confetti.” – a member of Medium Cool.

Medium Cool has seen many incarnations. In 1995 three members played their fifth grade recital, blowing the roof off their school cafeteria. In the early Aughts many of its members were playing in the NYC cult-favorite The Sexy Magazines. The group opened for heroes Iggy Pop, Big Star, The Strokes, and The Mooney Suzuki and played at festivals like Little Steven’s Underground Garage Festival, South by Southwest and the Coachella Music and Arts Festival in the year 2005.

Eventually the group disbanded, but Smith, Sanger, Eskenazi, Gallagher & McCoy reformed as Medium Cool.

In the midst of recording what would later become their self-titled debut EP, Marc-Philippe Eskenazi joined Albert Hammond, Jr. on the road in support of Albert’s solo album “Yours to Keep”. MC finished the EP, and then there was joy, pain, shows, trials, shuffling, reformation and rebirth.

Now Medium Cool is working on its second release (full length, full color) with Ben Rice of Newkirk studios out in Brooklyn. The band’s currently tracking hits like “No Relation”, “Famous Last Words” and “Pasts to Bed.”

In conclusion, Medium Cool is kicking ass all over New York City with new bass player and old friend Jonah Green, who played with Marc and Mark in that cafeteria circa 1995, and Tim McCoy, whose drum sticking you might know from bands such as the Isles, The Natural History and currently Savoir Adore. Come and join us at our next show!

Sincerely,

George Burns
