About "Song of Distance"
It was the search for silence that made Mazgani retreat to the countryside to record "Song of Distance". Not the silence of the conventional studio, where the acoustics are planned and treated, but a place where one can find the most profound emotion.
Amidst countryside paths for goats and olive trees, they assembled in a naked building their improvised studio and, in about 10 days, recorded 14 songs.
The ambition was to find the passion and the truth of each performance, the life of each song.
The result is a spontaneous, naked, record that exposes a voice that sings the solitude of great loves, the loss and the fall, the fascination and the urgency.
