Matt Ramsey spent the first 18 years of his life in Buchanan, a small town in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. At age 14 he found love in an old Yamaha guitar that had been collecting dust in his closet for a decade. This was the tipping point to a successful career as a songwriter and musician.

Matt has been compared to Columbia Records artist, Bruce Springsteen and newcomer, Jason Aldean. You’ll hear the influence of a variety of artists such as the legendary John Mellencamp in his music but with a fresh, original sound. Matt’s fans comment on his ability to engage a crowd through powerful vocals and instant energy. Through his original music, Matt helps you experience a place where country meets classic rock.

After traveling all over Virginia and performing with numerous bands, Matt relocated to Nashville, where in 2005, he signed a publishing deal with Praley Music, a music company owned by Country singer/songwriter Phil Vassar and manager Greg Hill. Since then, he has written hundreds of songs and opened for acts ranging from Phil Vassar to Little Big Town. Red Light Management agreed to represent Ramsey through his ventures alongside Vassar and other artists such as Rodney Atkins, The Lost Trailers and Heidi Newfield. His most recent CD, A Different Man on A Different Road, contains 10 original songs all written by Ramsey himself with help from some of Nashville’s most renowned songwriters. The son of a small town family, Ramsey has set a course to become a force in the future of country music.
