MATTHIAS MENCK

Matthias Menck has been part of the international electronic music scene since the 1980s. As producer and DJ he was one of the guys responsible for establishing House Music in Hamburg. Whilst he was a young graduate audio engineer, he spent many a sleepless nights in the recording studio and in the legendary Kontor Club where he was resident DJ. His first Gold and Platinum Record status he achieved with Brooklyn Bounce, one of his early commercial projects. In later years, as his musical career developed and inspired by his many international DJ gigs, Matthias has moved away from commercial sounds and has gone back to his roots. Which lie unmistakably in the House music. Matthias’ productions and DJ sets authentically capture his musical history and stand out both musically and technically. Aside from his solo projects (e.g. on Ministy Of Sound) and remixes (e.g. DJ Antoine, Chris Kaeser, D.o.n.s.) Menck works regularly with various Artists like Thomas Gold, Jerry Ropero or D.O.N.S. and very closely with Terri B.



For more the 3 years Menck is the main resident dj at the well known house club Halo and responsible for the international bookings (e.g. Erick Prydz, Steve Angello, John Dahlbäck, TV Rock,Afrojack, Laidback Luke and many more).

Hamburgs most popular Afterhour (SM Bar) is also hosted by M.Menck.

During his freetime he has a significant share in the radio station BASH.FM.



One of Mencks latest productions Everybody Be Somebody (with Thomas Gold), a remake of the project Ruffneck from the ’90s, was the most hyped track of 2008’s ADE (Amsterdam Dance Event). The feedback from other V.I.P. DJs have been amazing. Everybody Be Somebody was released in England, France, Italy, USA, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, South Africa, Portugal, Spain and Australia and became a worldwide hit record. The track hits top positions in many international

charts and became one of the most successful dance tracks in 2009.



Recently you can find 3 Menck Productions on the current Album of the top artist D.O.N.S. (Kontor/ Ultra Rec.).

Two singles together with his homie JERRY ROPERO, another single feat. glam rocker JOOL

and a new production with TERRI B. are waiting to be released soon in 2010. All new tracks found their premier during Mencks gigs at this years Winter Music Conference in Miami.



During his gigs around the globe and at his time at the halo residence Menck has played side by side

with top artists like LAIDBACK LUKE, PROK & FITCH, ERIC PRYDZ, STEVE ANGELLO, EDDIE THONEICK, TOM NOVY, AFROJACK, MILK & SUGAR, BENNY BENASSI, TV ROCK, BINGO PLAYERS and many more.
