Matthew Novak

Started recording and playing music at the age of thirteen in his basement; after his parents got him a Tascam cassette four-track for Christmas. After filling up many tapes with songs, he started to give some of the tapes to his friends. Not too long after, Matt got a digital 8-track and made five albums over the next couple of years under the moniker of The Encyclopedias. He played many shows from 2004-2007. It was around this time that Matt began recording under his own name. In 2009, Matt (somewhat) released Boo Who, his first collection of songs in three years. Turned off by the music scene of his hometown and underwhelming turnouts, Matt pretty much stopped making music and playing shows throughout the end of 2009 and all of 2010. Now Matt is looking to get back to making songs the way he used to as new ideas float around in his head.
