MATRA was formed in Milan, Italy, in 2003 with the purpose of playing the favourite music af the band's members: Rock and Roll, HeavyPsych, Hard Rock Blues, Stoner, etc.
After two years of gigs in social clubs, summer festivals and various clubs, in 2005 the band publishes its first album "MISSIONE DELTA" with Last Scream Records, distribuited by Andromeda. The album, with lyrics in Italian language, was produced and recorded by Fabio Magistrali, well known for his featurings in hundreds indipendent rock albums in Italy during the last 25 years.
Many magazines and web sites published very positive reviews and the band's name began to spread into the underground rock scene, collecting a substantial numbers of supporters among the Real Rock And Roll fans.
Meantime the band conceives the "Night for the Deaf", night events in HeavyPsych/R'n'R/Garage/Stoner style in Milan, totally managed by Matra, where tens of bands worldwide have performed in the last 5 years in various locations including COX18.
After several changes the band stabilizes its line-up as a four-piece and currently is recording a new album, in english language this time, whose release is expected at the springtime 2012.

Dopo 2 anni di concerti in centri sociali, pubs, festival estivi e locali vari, nel 2005 la band pubblica il suo primo album "MISSIONE DELTA" per Last Scream Records, distribuito da Andromeda. L'album, cantato in italiano, e' prodotto e registrato da Fabio Magistrali, noto per aver lavorato in centinaia di album di Rock Indipendente in Italia negli ultimi 25 anni.
Le recensioni su magazines e siti specializzati sono molto positive ed il nome inizia a girare nel mondo underground creando un buon seguito tra gli appassionati di Vero Rock and Roll.
Nel frattempo la band inventa le "Night for the Deaf", serate a tema Heavy/Psych/Garage/Stoner curate sotto ogni aspetto dai Matra, in cui decine di bands della scena underground mondiale si sono esibite nell'arco di 5 anni in diverse location tra cui il Cox18 di Milano.
Dopo vari cambi di formazione la band si stabilizza nell'attuale line-up, un four-piece a due chitarre, con la quale sta registrando il nuovo album - questa volta cantato in inglese - in uscita per la primavera 2012.
