Markella Toufexi is born and raised in Thessaloniki, Greece. She has studied journalism, public relationships, marketing and sociology and has been a reporter for "Makedonia" newspaper. Moreover, she has studied byzantine music and has participated as an actress in the State Theater of Northern Greece.
She is also a writer, having prepared a film script, "The Godess of Macedonia", which has already been submitted in the Greek Centre of Cinema and the Ministry of Culture.
What is more, she is a singer, composer and lyrics' writer.
Her favourite hobby is painting and more specifically iconography, thalassography and portraiture.
A big step in her singing career has been the song "Taksidiariko Pouli" which has been voted as one of the ten best 'zeimpekiko' songs; as well as the song "Hamenes Patrides", that is also submitted to the greek Ministry of Culture, alongside its videoclip which is directed by her.
A little bit later, comes the album "Thyella Psixis", that is produced and distributed by MINOS EMI and in which she signs for the lyrics, composition and singing.
She is oftenly giving live performances and organising music nights.
Mrs Toufeksi has collaborated with recognised artists such as Antwnis Bardis, Dimitris Mitropanos, Dimitra Galani, Pitsa Papadopoulou, Eleutheria Arbanitaki and others, both in Athens and Thessaloniki; and she has sung along the great composer Mimis Plessas at a conciert at the Theater of the Rocks - Melina Merkouri.
She is also involved to the organising of charity activities concerning abused and abandonned children and abused or single mothers.
Her recent activities include the publication of international magazine "Volcano Times" that is divided in two main categories of interest:
a) the journalistic research of various social subjects and
b) varied interest subjects such as sports, health, fashion, car technology, events, celebrities' presentation, etc.
At the same time, she has transcribed her script into a book under the title "The Godess of Macedonia". The book has to do with a modern love story through a plasmatic - realistic - metaphysical prisme, which proves the greek identity of Macedonia.
The book is published and distributed in its first Collective Edition by Volcano Publishing Company.
