Marie Moreshead

Marie Moreshead's blend of folk pop songwriting has been described by The Maine Switch as "aural comfort food." With an acoustic guitar in hand, she has shared the stage with regionally and nationally touring acts including Ray LaMontagne, Sonya Kitchell, NeedToBreathe, Rustic Overtones, and Mark Erelli. In 2010, she was voted "Best Female Vocalist" in the Portland Phoenix Best Music Poll Awards and was selected as a showcase artist for the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival in New York. Moreshead's EP Birdwatchers was named "Top EP of 2009" by the Portland Phoenix and she recently released her self-titled full-length album in January 2011, a two part disc containing five full band tracks and five bare bones acoustic tracks.
